Job Title: Butchery Manager

Location: South Queensferry | Hours of work: 39 hours per week | Days of work: 5 from 7 days, Monday – Saturday (Wednesday off).

As a Butchery Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of a butcher shop. You will be responsible for managing staff and ensuring that the products meet the quality standards and are delivered on time to customers. You will also be responsible for inventory management, sales, and creating an environment that ensures the safety of the staff and customers. The role requires working 5 days over 7 with a Wednesday and Sunday off, this may include public holidays.

Responsibilities will include:

Manage staff to ensure that products are prepared according to customer demand and quality standards.
Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished products to ensure that production needs are met while minimising waste.
Create and maintain relationships with customers.
Develop and implement sales strategies to increase revenue and market share.
Train and mentor staff to ensure that they are competent and efficient in their job roles.
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and health regulations.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure that products are delivered on time and to customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will have:

Experience in a managerial role in food production
Strong leadership and people management skills
Excellent communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with safety and health regulations governing meat processing – Specifically a Level 3 Food Hygiene Qualification.
A strong knowledge of HACCP Processes.
Knowledge of meat processing techniques and butchery practices.
Familiarity of working in a fast-paced environment, often standing for extended periods of time
Experience of handling raw meat products, wearing protective clothing and adhering to strict hygiene practices.
Experience of working in cold environments and lifting heavy objects.
